The art work is fantastic and really enhances the amazing writing style. The story moves along well and Jeremy Whitley really works the reader into a page turning frenzy. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good read, an interesting story for the whole family or lots of tongue in cheek comedy.

But then again, whats not to love about it? Well, I'll tell ya cause there is one thing to not love about the series. Which ain't bad, you know, if there is just one thing. But, it is a doozie and there just ain't much to be done about it. That one thing I don't love is THE WAIT FOR MORE!!! I'm sure it is worth the wait...but COME ON!!!! Hurry it up! Although, I know they are working hard on more, I follow them on tumblr for the little glimpses of progress. Its just the waiting...so difficult.

My 6 yr old daughter is a true princess, through and through, from the day she was born pink and tiny. I love having a princess story to share with her showing a stronger, confident, active princess. One that is more then a beautiful showpiece a-waiting a rescuer and a proposal. I also love that this princess is not blue-eyed and blonde and worrying about her prince. She makes mistakes, learns from them and keeps going. It is great! I attended the 2012 SPX showcasing my own children's story (A Giraffe Past Bedtime - available on ) and bought Vol. 1 of Princeless. Getting home and reading it, I immediately wished I'd bought the other volumes. But then I found the compiliation in a small comic shop. And bought it. I'm so glad to see it on . A delightful, fun, fulfilling read. For everyone! Give it a try!

What a freakingly fun comic. Princess Adrienne is the princess you want your young daughter to like. She is smart independent and so not waiting for a prince to rescue her. Her parents stuck her in a tower guarded by Sparky the dragon so a prince can prove himself worthy of her and eventually the crown by slaying the dragon and climbing up the tower to rescue her, as if!

People of all ages can enjoy this humorous spunky story. The illustrations are reminiscent of old school cartoons (like ScoobyDoo) and fit tone of the story well. The writing is intelligent and engaging making it a page turner. Another thing that sets this fairy tale apart from most is in a world dominated by fair skinned, fair haired princesses; Adrienne is the opposite with her dark hair and skin.

This issue ends with Princess Adrienne riding off on her dragon to save her other sisters trapped in towers of their own. There is a 4 page short comic called "Mr. Froggy" at the end of this issue. It is about Prince Charming's Charm School for Future Kings. While princesses are put in towers, all the young princes have to go learn how to rescue princesses and fight dragons. Prince Wilcome doesn't want to go; he wants play in the mud. Can he become the perfect prince?

A comic with a different view of the traditional fairy tale that seeks to dismantle gender tropes with comedic observances. Highly recommended.
A really cute story. I just have to buy the other three in the series now.

Only problem I have is really with - I wish I could read this on the or even on my Mac. I hate how the target devices for this book are so limited (
So many fantasy type stories center around men and boys, I wanted to find something that my little girl could relate to and enjoy. Right now it looks as though there are only 4 issues which is a bummer because she reads fast. I haven't shown this to her yet, but I enjoyed the setup, has the making of a good story.
She is fierce, independent, and on a mission. I love these comics and recommend them for children of all ages.
It is a kids comic, but it tackles a lot of mysogyny in comics and is a fun read. I think it's a great book if you want a positive role model for your daughter or your son to learn that women aren't objects. Worth a read!
