I am so sad that this is the last book I can read about this wonderful and exciting family. I loved all of them and their stories as they found their loves. This particular book had a lot of surprises, adventure, danger, and nasty characters trying to kill or abduct the heroine. The heroine had a very nice surprise towards the end which cleared up her nightmares and fears from 4 years prior which had been a significant factor in her fear of men. And the hero was discovered to be a truly admirable man, despite what his father and brother had done to him.Tags : The Earl's Enticement (Castle Bride Series Book 3) - Kindle edition by Collette Cameron. The Earl Enticement Castle Bride Series Book 3 edition by Collette Cameron Romance eBooks Reviews
l enjoyed the journey the author took us on. Yes, there are typo's but not enough to distract completely from the story.
This couple do not get together until about 1/3 into the book, so I didn't feel a connection until after that point. Also, if you read book 2 of the series, the first 1/3 of this book was also anticlimactic because the ending of book 2 is the beginning of this book. So you knew the outcome and that was boring to me.
There are many villains, but it was easy to keep track of them all. I thought our h should have been more upset with one of the villains because of their relationship with the H. I thought she should have questioned him more about their history.
The romance does build slowly, and there is mild foreplay prior to marriage. But only one described (mildly) after they are married, and it was full of passion and not erotic.
We do get HEA, though it was a very rough road and an epilogue. I am not going into the exact story line because many have explained it. I do recommend this story. I think you would enjoy this one better if you read book 2 first, but not really necessary because the author does fill you in on the back ground of the character's. (ljb)
I really enjoyed this book, and I recommend it highly. Adaira is a delightful heroine, although her proclivity for wearing breaches is a result of an attack on her 4 years prior to the events in the book (explained and an integral part of the story). Her meeting with Roark results in total chaos, which easily could lead to her being sent to Newgate or even hung. Obviously that can't happen, since she is the leading lady. However the "punishment" devised by Roark is entertaining, and then there are villains galore, whom you love to hate. Happy ending and a feel good finish. In fact, I liked these character so much I would have enjoyed reading some more, but the story was truly finished. No cliffhangers here.
After starting and stopping this read on several occasions, I am very glad I persevered and finished The Earl's Enticement by Collette Cameron. The last half of this well written Regency romance was worth the annoyances of the first half.
I liked Adaira (Addy) Ferguson from the start. Granted she was head-strong and a bit spoiled, but her spirited approach to the ghosts of her past and her love of her steed, Fionn, gave her an appealing strength of character. Her honesty and lack of guile put her name on my favorite heroines list.
On the other hand, Roark, the Earl of Claredon, was the exact opposite. He was pompous, arrogant, judgmental, self-important, etc., etc. His damaged past and his kindness toward animals was the only hint that a better man was hidden beneath his severe exterior.
Needless to say, by the time I turned the last page, with its sigh-worthy ending, I realized this action filled love story had me hooked and Roark had captured my heart as well as Adaira's.
FYI Although there is no rough language, there is some sexual content, but it is not excessive.
Addy dresses as a lad for a reason. She doesn't want to attract the attention of men. She is also very unconventional in other ways, including the fact that she breeds horses. Afterall, no respectable maiden should know of such matters. She is also intelligent, brave and beautiful.
When she ends up abducting and imprisoning Roark, her life will never be the same.
I think what bothered me most was that the strong, capable, intelligent Adaira had her confidence shaken so badly by one person. I didn't think that fit with the her personal character. Afterall, this was a young woman who didn't seek societies approval. While she may, eventually, have wanted Roark's approval, I feel she should have simply wanted him to appreciate her for who she really was. Because, that was exactly what did happen. So, why make her doubt herself?
Also, there were just too many typos. In fact, after the end of the book where other books by the author are mentioned - the author's name was typed as Collect instead of Collette!
The Earl's Enticement ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Written by Collette Cameron
Adaira Ferguson refuses to follow appropriate behavior. She wears breeches, rides horses astride and follows her own wishes.
When Adaira meets Roark, the Earl of Claredon, she mistakes him for his treacherous brother and imprisons him in the dungeons of her family estate. When he is finally released after she learns of her mistake he threatens to throttle her and he does to teach her a lesson.
Roark prefers his world to be very proper and at times can appear quite grumpy. As Adaira gets to know him she see a man who is sensitive to others in need. Roark is gentle and caring to his servants and his animals.
As a promise not to press charges against Adaira for his imprisonment Roark believes he can curb her spirit and make her a lady. He then realizes he is enchanted with this free spirited ways of this woman.
This is a very touching story for the couple because they both realize they need each other to complete themselves.
